  • bermuda in a zoysia lawn

Any way to eradicate Bermuda grass from a zoysia lawn w/o killing the zoysia?
    Thanks,

You could spot spray it with a non selective herbicide but I don't know of anything selective. But, then again, I deal with cool season grasses only so I don't read too much about the warm grasses. Make sure the nonselective is a non leaching formula.

Hi, I am the southern Lawn Care Sales Specialist with Bayer. You could try using Acclaim Extra. Read the label to understand how to do it, but it should work well. You can access product information at bayerprocentral.com.

On cool season, I know of one sure way to get rid of bermuda, Sell the house and go buy one without it. I have actually given the Warm season Guy holy "ahem" about recomending bermuda for any application before the sceintist have something that will selectively remove it from all grasses. Spent four years removing it from a lawn where I suspected it was hiding under a spruce with low hanging braches. I made an innocent comment to The H.O. about my suspicions. Two weeks later I went back with round up to make sur it was dead, and the tree was gone and so was that bermuda!

I use ORNIMIC it works better than any thing else I`ve tried, it will cause a little browing on the zoyzia but if you mix it with liqid iron its hardly noticable. and yes Ornimic is for spraying on ground covers but the label says to use it for getting rid of bremuda in zoyzia lawns.
