  • Licence in Minnesota

    Hello,

I'm in the process of starting up a lawn care service this spring. I was wondering if you can tell me what I can and can't do in the state of Minnesota regarding lime, fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide application. I've spread fertilizer and lime on my own lawn. How is doing it for a living any different?

    Thanks for the help,
    Mark

Go to top topic in this forum. Admin has posted links to all state pesticide licensing sources. States regulate pesticides and some states regulate fert and lime. You have to be licensed to do these for hire. Use links in that post to find details in your state.

Mark, In minnesota you can't apply anything for profit unless you are licensed. Call the minnesota department of agriculture (651-297-7175) and they will send you info. You will have to take tests for turfs & ornamentals and general ground. The state has books to study for the test, there about $50 its boring stuff so good luck studying!
