During the boom and during the initial drop in building, I was getting lots of calls to look at ppls plants that was dying after a year. Planting too deep was a majority of the problems along with the stem rot

my jobs are estimated on a 2 inch depth. as a well edumacated college boy turned lawn turd you should know more than anyone that mulch holds alot of air and when settled down you are lucky to have an inch which in a season's time or half season there ain't much left, thus why hillbillys like me mulch every year on the same propertys and it never gets thick or as you say " HEFTY ".

You never find your mulch beds increasing in height over time? :alien::alien::alien:

Must be some shoddy mulch if it's decomposing that quickly. Then again, dyed mulch is typically made of shredded pallets. Explains a lot.

around here the red is the only one made from pallets. i only use chestnut brown and i'm very good at applying it as not to cause any problems and still make $$$ each season. i see very few mushrooms in my mulch period and basically have no shotgun issues either. i don't apply mulch as weed control which is bull$heot in itself. :alien:
