i'm gonna mix mesotrione and triclopyr and spray the sheot. looks like i gotta spray it numerous times which sucks...........for college boy that is tenacity and turflon ester. it is supposed to get rid of bermudagrass, quackgrass, nimblewill, as well as orchardgrass. this comes from a NC STATE study that was done....

1st off here is the mix, 3/4 ounce of tenacity per 4 gallons, 3 ounces of turflon ester mixed in also. the tenacity was a pain in the azz to mix. i had a dropper but still got the crap on me. i tried with my gloves on and they were too bulky for the dropper..... i'll repeat the application in 3 weeks and continue that pattern. hopefully that will knock this stuff down.

Let us know how this works out. Hope that Tenacity helps. I know Turflon Ester alone didn't provide me with good results on bermuda grass in fescue. :alien::alien::alien:

if it don't show up then i won the battle. this stuff mixed together is supposed to give you about 75% control of bermuda and i think that was using acclaim in the mix somewhere too and even then it requires multiple sprayings. i won't make any $$$ on this as it is more of a test. the guy is a doctor and always gives me presents and tips for my services. he just gave me a $100 tip for a mulch job so i'm pretty much doing this for cost and giving my labor up. he's got bermuda as well so if this works then i can advertise this as another service.

                  1st Update............

i mowed the yard today and all the orchard grass was turning white which is what it was supposed to do. i must have some other grasses in there as well which were down for the count. the few broadleafs i had were dead as well. the bermuda showed no sign of stress at all. i'll spray again in two more weeks. also no stress on the fescue and this has been a hot week in hooterville with no rain.

orchard grass is almost non existent. it's not growing so it just blends in with the fescue at this point. the bermuda still shows no sign of stress. i'll spray again monday. i'm thinking this stuff works.

                            Update After A Year.....

i'm guessing 90% is gone. i have an area on one side of his driveway that still has some but it is connected to the neighbors yard who has it also. for the record this yard always has alot of nutsedge and last summer i had very little to spray which i'm guessing is from the pre-em effect of the tenacity. so the stuff does work but it cost alot when you combine the two products and if i remember correctly you only get an acre coverage which pretty much ate my product up after the multiple spraying i had to do.
