  • Round up applications

Anyone know about how often Round up needs to be applied to keep the weeds in control? Monthly? bimonthly?

We really don't have a set time frame for applications of Roundup®. We will reapply as needed. Generally speaking, we reapply Roundup® when it is more time effective to reapply the weed killer as opposed to just hitting it with the trimmer. If it's just a few green sprigs starting to poke their head through the soil, it's probably more cost effective to just knock them down with the trimmer then to spend the money on more weed killer. But when they really start breaking through and the overall appearance starts to suffer, it's time to reapply.

By the way Rog, it's helpful on this forum if you will take the time to fill out your profile with at least your location. A lot of questions on here are area specific and you'll get a better response from individuals that are in your general geographic region.

        To Rog,
Roundup has no residual, or premergent action. What I mean is it will kill what you hit with it, but that weed is likely to reoccur in the same place depending on time of year, climate, geography, etc.
To enhance your application you may try adding another herbicide to Roundup, like Pre-M sold at Lesco. What this will do is control visible weeds, and those that you can't see below the surface of the soil. Look at the Roundup Pro label and it will give you this information, including recommended products for mixing it with. Most guys look to make this application at the first serious signs of spring when weed seed germination is just beginning. Once germination has occured, it's much harder to control.
        Excellent question by the way.
