Well, if that potful of soil that you baked for an hour contained any tomato seeds, they would likely be able to survive and sprout. Why? I don't know, just have heard the story. Lots of peculiar things in nature. Lots of neat things, too.

But tomatoes are much easier to control than yellow nutsedge, LOL! Ever see a tomato plant that got just a whiff of 2-4,D? Hard to believe plants can get so contorted.

Ok guys lets get out our Easy Bake ovens, and put em on the truck.

Seriously manage works well, just wait for 80 degrees, and do not blanket it

I looked at these areas yesterday again. The dead growth is half way down the leaf shaft now amd the lower 50% of the shaft is slightly yellowed. also it has stopped all spread in the treated areas. Bottom line- it is controlling. Just not very fast right now. There is however a new patch springing up in a turf area just outside a ornamental stone wall structure. My client is happy w/ the control thus far.

If your temp is 80 degrees Mike, the MSMA6.6 is a good product if you have it on the shelf. Nice thing about it is I am already using it on crabgrass that escaped due to rain.
Monday the weather man was all pround of himself for discovering that since May 1 we have had 34 days with at least a trace of rain out of a possible 47 days. I might catch up iin 2004. It was also the first day this year that we crossed the 80 degree line this year

                  yellow nut sedge
use manage at 1 gram per gal in a backpack with a teejet 8004.
watch for the overlap only about 4 inches. Works great may need a second application 6 weeks later. Spray when it first comes up. I 'm pretty sure the label says the same thing.

Patience is a virtue. Just give it a little time and 2 apps.

I use trimec plus and it does the job. It also works on assorted broadleafs, crabgrass and foxtail. The nutsedge took about two weeks to die out.

It appears that most are trying to control the sedge in a planting bed, and your using a sprayer?

                        Ever see an applicator wand?

Looks like a hockey stick, it's hollow plastic with an applicator type sponge on the bottom

                          prep' for spraying

What preperation should be done to the lawn before spraying Manage, meaning should lawn be cut lower to penetrate better, should lawn be wet or dry, how will rain effect application within 24-36 hrs, how long before lawn can be cut and watered so as not to nullify application?

Perfect reply to my post GroundsKprs. However what I should have added and didn't, is that apart from the obvious directions that the manafacturer gives what in your experienced opinion will enhance the applications effectiveness?

I dont know what the label says but i already figured out on my ow that if you mow than wait 3-4 days the sedge comes up high. Im getting best results shooting t than. Than cuting about 2 or 3 days later. 1 site we cut the next day. This was 2 weeks and its dyeing. 80% dead now and it dont come back up.
