I've had experience with organics ... still need to use IPM for effective weed controls and affordable insect controls but organics is slowly rising in popularity. However, you'll need to keep the organic services priced very close to the cost of a conventional lawn care program to sell it. If a conventional lawn care program runs let's say $350 a season ... it's tough selling an organic program at let's say $500. Some people are very sold on it and will pay quite a bit more ... but IMHO those people are rare.

I also was involved in the early stages of helping a friend of mine develop a franchise for organics ... here's the website to it.

        Phil,
How do you keep the prices down? The "organic" fertilizers cost about 3 times as much. I personally dump chicken crap on my lawn, but customers are not going to put up with this mess. I have tried to get an "all natural" lawn care program going for about 25% more than my usual service, but let's just say it has not exploded. People here are pretty much all about cost, although some people moving in are more interested in the IPM stuff. I would love to be on the forefront of this in my area, but I need a good source for natural or organic fertilizer. What do you think is the best? I have tried Bradfield stuff, and wasn't very impressed - might as well get Ringer from Home Depot. Any suggestions?
