  • Start-up spray business

I am looking for info. on start - up equip. for a spraying business. Most of the applications will be on residential lawns ( granular and liquid), also parking lots for weeds. Any recommendations on equipment brand and prices would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I've seen one of those in action and I gotta say that my spray tank may be heading for a trade in! I'm getting tired of pulling hose and pushing a spreader all day.

I have a cab over Isuzu Spray Truck. But I didn't start there. Granular Fertilization with Slow release is the best. Liquid fert is cheap and most give boom then bust. If you are starting out a very inexpensive way to go is electric 12 V pump. A guy in my town has a home made set up and uses a garden hose that he coils in the back of his truck, no hose reel. He doesn't have $ 400.00 invested in equip.

Spray Equipment can cost any price you want to pay. Lesco makes a real nice low profile skid sprayer for about $ 3800 + tax and they might have them on sale in Oct or Nov. If you invest in a good Skid Sprayer then look for a rust free frame and hose reel. SS hose reels are a life time investment. Hoses and motor can be replaced on these units. I just bough 8 SS hose reels used for very cheap money from TG/CL. I will put new motors on them and sell them to local pressure washer or spray guys.

Phil gave you a link to ride on spreaders and I would have to agree with him. You get the best of both worlds. Don't be afraid to put out good chemicals, they are your word of mouth advertising.
