Hey yall in NC (NCSULandscaper, Edger, MadDog, PearceTurf).
First off anyone is free to provide some advice to my question, but specifically I would like to here from my NC neighbors in rgds to what products they are using on a daily basis. I have found the Lesco dealer in the area and visited once or twice got supplies there to renovate a lawn. I went ahead and asked them about a program for fescue, but well you know...the guys did not give me that feeling that they were willing to talk to a newbie about a very good professional program for pesticide and fert applications.
Really I would like to learn what should be put down and when. I have seen some companies around hop out of the vehicle pull out the spreader, walk it, then pull out a backpack sprayer, spot spray then drive off. What process is followed from initial visit of a new client, how do you figure out app rate, price for service. Is there a herbicide product used in general that covers a multitude of the weeds we are likely to encounter (as I wonder if the applicator are mixing a batch at start of day, and using the same thing at several accts until they need to make another batch).
I know my questions seem very newbie, however, to save you from asking if I am certified. The answer is yes, however, I guess NC's highest concern is just to ensure that safety is always practiced. I got the jist of that, now I need to learn the reality. Are there certain forms to be purchased to log stuff like wind speed... (is that always measured at each acct). Where could I find it. Oh lastly, I likely will go with a more price conscienous spreader like a earthway over the Lesco, however, if I could somehow feel more leveled out with the guys over there I would go all lesco, spreader and their supplies. By the way what is the alternative to using lesco's products.
Thanks, I know it is lengthy but I appreciate it.
