  • price per acre

    Just curious what you guys charge, here is what I came up with.

    1) Pre-emergent Crabgrass w/fertilizer 125.00 per acre.
    (using a 23-3-6 Fert. w/team.
    2) Broadleaf weed and feed. 130.00 per acre.
    (using 15-2-5 w/ Millennium)
    3) Summer Fert. only 112.00 per acre.
    using 28-5-8 50% SCU
    4) same as # 2
    5) Winterizer @ 100.00 per acre
    using 6-20-20 w/micronutrients.

    The job we are bidding is 5 acres and has mostly slopes and very little flat ground. we will be using a earthway broadcast spreader.

    the total 5 step program comes up to be 2985.00 per year. Is this high/low?

    Dave

    For the same five acres I would charge $3225.00 plus tax. This is based on my overhead and product selection. You should keep all applications priced the same. Just figure the average cost and go with that per application.

      Thanks, Being new to the bidding process this helps, I now know I'm in the ballpark. Did you catch the Hoosier/Hawkeye game yesterday. Hawks won by 2 in double OT.

          Use flat ground prices ... to start ... then to be (extra competitive) add only the extra time (at cost) to apply on slopes beyond normal time to apply on flat ground) ... this retrieves your extra out of pocket costs only for difficulty of app ... without putting pressure on price ... especially important for app bids on highly competitive bids like large office parks, towns, parks, municipal bids ... where if you used a straight across the board multiplier % your price would get blown out of the water.

            Wrong Phil. Your supposed to tell him that his bid is fine then, go win the job yourself.
