Fertilizer program soil test

When you are selling a fertilizer program do you include a soil test to determine what is needed? If so, do you perform a new test every year to keep up with the lawn. Or do you offer this as an option to the new customer for an additional price. Just looking to see what other applicators are doing. Thanks.

A soil test is the best way to determine the amount of product needed to benefit the turf. I personally do not do soil tests on every lawn. I do however use soil tests when problems arise, that need a soil test analysis.

A general program will usually work. Like CCLS staed, if there is a problem then do a soil test. They range anywhere from $15 on up to close to $50 depending on where you go.
