This question is for the guys who have full time applicators working for you. When you have customers set up on fertilizer programs, how do you keep your applicator busy all the time. If I'm correct, most LCOs operate on a 6 week rotation for fertilizer. In order to keep the fert steps timed right (not too early, not too late), isn't there a certain window of opportunity. If that window is 6 weeks long, it would make sense to be busy all the time since you would finish with your 1st step at the end of the 6 weeks and immediately start on your 2nd step. But that is where I am not that knowledgeable. I have a Lesco "flash card" that shows the opportune time for step 1/2 is only 2 weeks long. If that's the case, then that would leave a whole month of downtime for the applicator before he would start the next step. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Bingo, its that simple.
"I have a Lesco "flash card""
through that thing away.
As long as you have the customer count, once your season starts there will not be any downtime.
(heres where many will jump all over me)... In commercial lawn care, you will not always be appling any particular application during the 'optimum' window simply because of the number of applications you need to apply. But that doesnt mean you are not providing a service to your customer. Thats the reason why the standard in the industry is to offer free service calls.
