I have to spray for weeds in a baseball infield dimond and not sure what to spray to kill all the weeds there is alot of them, and when should I treat it, I live in Maine?

are you trying to kill everything? (dirt infield) or just the weeds and leave the grass. AS far as when you need to wait until they are actively growing or it will not do a thing

I'm assuming cool season grass here. 24d/dicamba/mecaprop combo will do the job. There are many trade names out there with these ingredients. If there are any harder to control weeds in there such as wild violets and creeping charlie, you will have to use an ester formulation in the cooler temps. Even then, it may require 2 apps 14 days apart.

If you are trying to kill everything....then use roundup.

Hey since you mention it I have a horrible problem with my own property with those damn little violets... the people who had the house before me used them for a ground cover in a bed - that works well since they cover everything in there way including my lawn! I'm not licensed yet for lawn chemicals and admittedly I'm no expert on that topic for sure. What do you use to kill those little invincible invaders?

Lesco three way ester will knock em out. Plan on hitt'n em at least twice 10-14 days apart. You do not need a license to purchase this product as it is not restricted.

Thank you for the info. I'll give it a try once they come to life and before those little purple flowers spread their spawn farther across my yard! I won't even start with the vines that won't die! That's another story for another day...

Whoa! Back the truck up! lol
Mariner's advice for your LAWN at home, the Round-up advice for the dirt infield. However, if your going to Lesco, just get Prosecutor. It's their brand of Glyphosate, and much cheaper. Actually, Gordon's has their own that works real well, and is WAY cheaper.

                    2 4 D ester at tractor supply is $43.00 for 2 1/2 gals.

They also sell knock off roundup with 41% AI cheap but I can't bring up that product or a price on their website.
