  • Do I need a license??

I operate a small lawn service in North Florida. One of my clients wants me to treat for fire ants and fertilize. Now I am not licensed to spray, (I plan on getting licensed at some point), but do I need to be licensed to use a granule application for the fert. and Fire ants. And how do I go about getting licensed to spray. I hope that I have not asked a question that has recently been covered, I have reading threads for about an hour now.

    Thanks for any info....

    This should cover your Questions!

    Hello bec2173:

Yes, you need to be licensed...
This is what my County Extension Agent told me over 20 years ago...

If you apply chemicals or fertilizers of any kind & charge a Fee for it you must be licensed. Then you are still liable for it if something goes wrong!

    Please read here:
Lawn and landscape business owners discuss and share all matters relating to the treatment of turf, tress and shrubs including the use of pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and organic materials.

& check out the links related to the State You are Located in!

All your answers should be covered, if you have any doubts or Questions of any kind, Please Contact your Local County Extension Agent, You (We) pay their Salary & they will be Glad to Help You, It's Their Job!
