I heard that you could stunt seed head production with Round-UP at a mix rate of 25% of normal.

    Any truth to this?

Yep it is true. But I wouldn't recommend it on a fine homeowner Bahia turf. It will also take away some color. Part of the application process is low volume per acre, 35 gallons. Most of the citrus groves use a two tank, two boom Roundup spray rig. One sprays 2% AI under the trees for weed control while the other sprays .25% AI or stronger between the trees to hold down Bush Hogging costs.

Monsanto originally was trying to develop Glyphosate as a Growth regulator. But by accident discovered the most financially successful pesticide ever developed. Roundup is considered by most to be a non select herbicide. However it has many uses as a select herbicide and growth regulator.

Go to Bluebooktor.com and read the many labels for it. then click the greenbook for Agi. labeled Roundup. Roundup is in fact an over the top herbicide also.

BTW now that the Roundup patent has expired, Monsanto is making many of the Roundup Knock offs. However they are using the original Surfactants instead of the new better acting surfactants of Roundup Pro & Ultra, etc.

Sounds like it would be a ton cheaper for anyone following the thread? Versus the other marketed growth regulators?

Actually if you add chelated Iron it will green up the turf as well. The trick is to apply it evenly. The new boom ride on sprayers are perfect for this.
