  • Burning lawn

I have a couple questions. A couple weeks ago I did a granular app and spot sprayed for weeds for the first time on a new account. I drove by the following week and noticed brown spots in the grass on all the spots I had sprayed. The temp that day was 81 and low 80's for 3 days previous. I did everything according to label directions. I didn't spray above 85 deg and mixed according to specs. This batch had Drive and Trimec combined but hadn't bothered any other lawns I sprayed. Any ideas why it may have done this. I am somewhat new to chem apps so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

For you guys that have been around a while: Do you just need one day of under 85 deg to spray or should you wait until you have a series of them? I guess I'm concerned about spraying a stressed lawn. So how do you define a stressed lawn?

Do you spray in the heat of the summer or just wait for early fall?

We can only second guess what might of gone wrong. Did you keep the tank mixed or let it settle out. Could be that one lawn got a stronger AI. and was burned.

As far as stressed laws go, a good strong green color is generally a healthy lawn. Any thing short of that would be a candidate for stress.

It's possible I may not have shaken the sprayer before spraying this one. Anything is possible.
