Wondering what other people would charge to clear a 1300 sq. foot driveway of snow with a snow blower. Also how much you would charge to salt it. I don't know what a fair price would be.

im not into salting, but 1300sq is about 60ishx22? anyway, id probably charge around $45 if its light snow and say over 12" around $75+ and more if its say 20", snow blowing is slower, but more precise and nice looking, manuevers easily etc. I did a couple driveways last year tha twere probably larger than this and they had no problem with $65, i know i should have been over $100 though.

(about time you got your Q answered!! )

Ram's right-on, if its flat, and the plow-route is dense on that side of town for you where you got lots of other stops nearby- otherwise a little more and include the customer's share of the gas costs! You could do that-sized drive whether you went with a 19" Toro 2-cycle 3hp thrower or hauled the plow clear across town with the gas and weight. Always have your plow and salt prices different so customer doesnt confuse 'em. We'd salt 'em for discount if at time of plowing, and about $10 less if salt-only application.

Start getting them signed up if you haven't already.
Are you sure you are charging enough to include your debt service, maintenance/rental/lease/replacement, insurance, licensing, marketing, materials, payroll, permits, real live union-made US postage, retention of customers, safety equipment, taxes and uniformed work clothes into what you do everyday???
