I have currently five cutomers for snow removal on driveways and sidewalks. I was curious if i should buy a plow for my truck or just stick with my snow blower. I get more and more customers everytime it snows and i charge 25 dollars for residential drives. Any information would be a lifesaver.

    Thanks

Stick with a large snow blower, they clean up better and you dont have to worry about the abuse on your truck. Also by the time you back drag the drives and shovel the walks, you could have just done the whole thing with a blower in about half the time.

5 drives is not justification to plunk down a minimum of 3K on a plow for your truck. As beano said, you're best off sticking with a snow blower. I have about 20 drives (give or take a few depending on the storm) and all I use for equipment is a Snapper SX5200 snow blower and a plow attached to a Deere rider. I can do all 20 drives in less than 5 hours. The key is finding the quickest method of removing snow with your particular blower.

Later, if/when you have too many drives to handle in a day, you should look into buying a plow with the ability to back drag (namely a Sno-Way snow with the down-force option, or a standard front plow tandomed with a pull plow).

What kind of JD are you using Masterman and where have you been by the way?????

In my youth, (pre licence days) i used to use a Montgomery wards 11 hp mower with the optional blower on it to remove pretty deep snow in upstate N.Y driveways...Now that i think of it it worked amazingly well ,and i cant imagine pushing through those drifts compared to grinding through them with the blower...

So getting to the point have you ever looked at e-bay because i noticed a while back snow-blower attachments for riders were selling at bargain prices, and may be a better way to go considering you already have the J.D lawn tractor....

Ohh,,,,,,LAST QUESTION. Were you on the Honeymoon or just on vacation???

P.S: Soddy`s been getting away with murder while you`v been away!!!!

Get back on his back,(Oopps) i mean back to work, TRANNY........
GOD BLESS AMERICA (MY HOME SWEET HOME ) !!!!!

I handle 12 residential driveway contracts for everytime it snows and then some more people call off my fliers every time and I can have the first 12 done in about 3 hours.. I am using a Toro 2450 snowblower and it works fine.. gets the driveway and sidewalks done in less than 15 minutes on any residential drive

The Deere is an old 1980's 111 only used for snow duty. Here I don't think it'd be necessary to spend the extra money on a blower over the plow due to our minor snowfalls. I do check ebay every once in awhile for steals, in fact ebay is where the Deere and plow came from. Personally I'd rather just sell the Deere and buy another snowblower, but the fact I replaced the engine on the Deere last year, bought a new snow blade this year along with lug tires and 80lb rear weight....it'd be hard to part with it....too much invested into it....

Anywho, I've toned down with the Anti-Shodster Campaign. I might do a little something before Christmas to knock on him a tad though.....look for it soon.

No honeymoon....no vacation...just finals weeks starts tomorrow and needless to say I've been busy with both school and work.
