Seriously... The largest snow blower I have EVER seen was on an approach to the Des Moines airport. While we were landing, this thing was clearing taxi ways and possibly another runway. It was freaking HUGE! Mounted on the front of a BIG truck (like big cities use for salting and plowing), that mother was blowing a roostertail of snow an EASY 150 feet or so. Man, I am NOT kidding you! It was an easy 10 or 12 feet wide, hell, maybe 15 feet wide. A huge thing. Looked like a 2 stage setup from what I could see. All I know is that thing was BLOWING snow!
Let me put it to you this way... It could have EASILY blown the snow OVER the terminal and out into the parking area. The frigging roostertail was visible a few miles out on the final. Needless to say, I was impressed as hell.
Ok, I just did a search and FOUND the flipping thing. Here you go. The truck has a 250 horsepower diesel engine. But the BLOWER is powered by a 650 HORSEPOWER ENGINE ALL ITSELF! It will move up to 5,000 TONS (yes, frigging TONS) of snow an hour! And yes, it will throw it up to 125 feet!
See, I wasn't 5h1tting you!
Look here at a REAL snowblower!
It was that big yellow screamer there at the top. You see one of those things in action, and you will NEVER forget it!
Look down a little further and there is an even BADDER mother! It will do 7,000 TONS of snow an hour while running at 50 MPH! Hmm..... I wonder if the state would contract out the highways? 700 horsepower on the blower unit on that one!
How long before Jack D. is running a fleet of these?

P.S. Scroll down and have a look at their blower (air blower truck). It runs a 350 Horsepower diesel, and moves air at 438 miles per hour. Forget those walk behind blowers for leaf cleanups! I bet you could blow a yard clean (of leaves, turf, animals, small cars, whatever) in record time!Woody
