I think what is at issue is Meyer plows themselves. Many people run around, (including myself) with these ST plows. They're not rated for commercial use, but yet many of them are used in that way. I learned my lesson this year. Luckily the crap held together for the most part.

I'd be tempted to buy into Meyer's C line, just because I already have a Meyer plow, but I'd really have to look the plow over first. Meanwhile, I'd prefer to buy a plow with a trip edge as opposed to a full trip. I believe Meyer (or Diamond) now has such a plow out, but who's to say it's without problems (being as it's fairly new)?

I've got some time to think it out......perhaps I'll just sell my Meyer??
You been advised wrong, my touchpad has been used 4 years with no problems. Main issues with meyer plows is their v-plow, steer clear of that, unless they have fixed the issues with it.

JR, from what I hear, you have to baby the controller. Been told the circut board is prune to breakage (even from a small bump). Also been told the thing doesn't operate so well if it's cold???? Dunno, this is just what I hear.....

The one I use is a s.a.m. unit, basically the same as an original, but aftermarket. Mine stays in the truck all winter, use it once, you never use anything else.Believe me, I love mine. Would not be without it. I don't care for slick stick.

Got the E57 and E60 quick lift. I do the same as you as far as changing fluids. I have had no problems with touch pad. Plow is pretty responsive and not slow at all. It is only slow when really cold out but most are.

I guess as far as plows go, it is the same as everything. Ford vs. Chevy, Exmark vs Skag or whatever.....Not everyone has the same luck with equipment. I had some friends that bought their Meyer plow the same time i bought mine from the same dealer and their pump seals went the first month. Only thing I have done is change fluids.
