  • Need Suggestions.........

Well I am 32 years old and have never had to buy a lawn mower. I have been lucky enough to always have one available from friends or family. Well we just ran from Hurricane Rita and have relocated to Austin, Tx. Our new house has a nice yard and no need for a riding mower. I have been looking and reading about the Honda HRC216HXA. I do not mind spending the money on a quality machine. For home use is this going to be the best deal? And can anyone recommend a good dealer in the Austin area?

For a single homeowner, that mower will last a real long time with proper maint. I live in San Antonio, but maybe someone else can recommend a dealer up there.

you really don't need a commercial mower if it's only being used once a week for an hour or so. ANything in the Harmony series would be fine or if you need to bump it up, the HRX series will last you forever and they're available at Home Depot. Take the other $500 and get a nice weedeater, edger and blower and you'll be set.

what size truck you drivin? I just picked up a lil ol' 05' quadcab 1ton dualie

          Hey Scott........

I just sold my 99' Dodge 3500 Quad Cab Dually. Got to the point where it was parked at the house most of the time. Sold it to a friend with 252,000 miles on it. Spent some money putting a high performance tranny in it along with some other toys. On the dyno I was around 350HP and 800LB FT of torque. but I sure do miss that truck now.

But back to the mower situation, I like how the HRC is shaft driven. I was worried about the belt on the others wearing out. My father-in-laws Craftsman is a pain in the ass to change the belt on. I will check out the Harmany & HRX series. Typically does a side bagger seem to work better or it does not matter?

Two things you might want to do. First, TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK, as your posts are disturbing to read.

Second... Check the date to the threads you are responding to. This one is a year and a half old. So are a few other ones you responded to.

Realistically, do you thing this guy is still waiting, over a year later, for advice on which mower to buy?
