Sod fertilizing

I have a lawn guy and trugreen treating my lawn.

I'm sure it should be going dormant this time of year but trugreen just fertilized it along with some pre emergent in october and then I got a bill from my lawn guy saying he winterized it last week. What results will I get and won't it hurt my lawn since it's supposed to be dormant now? everybody else's lawn is dormant. I really would like to let both of them go for the winter to save a bit.
