  • V6 or V8

    hello....
My parents will be looking to buy a used vehicle this month or next month for my b. day in April..... I've narrowed my list down to an Ford Explorer Sport Trac or an Jeep Grand Cherokee. I really like both models, but the Ford Explorer Sport Trac has an v6 4.0 liter engine, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee has an 8 CYLINDERS 4.7 Liters. I will be towing an 12x6 trailer, loaded with an 61'' ztr and a 36'' w/b along with a few self pace mowers and handhelds..... I think the Sport Trac is a better vehicle for my LCO, due to it being more of a truck than the Jeep.

Also, I will be driving this vehicle everyday from my house to high school, about 15miles away so i'm also considering gas millage.....Also insurance rates are to be looked at, i haven't done a whole lot of resource on the rates but will do soon as the times comes.

drop me a line, on what truck is best for my needs

i would get an F150, but that's me. the sports trac sounds better than the jeep. that wouldn't look very cool pulling a trailer with a jeep.

i think this truck or the jeep fits me good.... i'm just startin to drive (got my license in october) so i don't really need anything of size.... Plus these suvs/suts are more of a pimp vehicle than regular old pickups..... i need something to drive to chase some tail in

Anyways, i can always use my dad's 2003 chevy 1500hd for some big jobs

P.S. will these vehicle tow my trailer and my equipment?

I don't think your going to get anyone to endorse either of those vehicles for lawn care or landscaping.

                If you can't...

lay a 4'X8' sheet of plywood flat in the back & close the tailgate it ain't a truck...

My Father said that till the day he died, he was 75 years old & had 8 wives. He knew trucks, just didn't know women!

                  Note to everyone:
This vehicle will only be used part time as an LCO vehicle.... mostly for personal use, haulin ass and gettin laid, haha

As for the full time vehicle i will be usin my dad's 2003 1500hd silverado, v8 6.0 ltr

P.S. i started this forum to ask whether which one of these vehicle would be best for part time LCO usage

GrassMaster.... your rite bout these vehicles their not trucks.... The Sport Trac is rather an SUT (sport ulitly truck).....

But hey, thats why they make trailers to haul things.... Hoke a trailer hitch up to this vehicle and you've got a 12' bed, to haul!

who uses truck's bed to haul equipment anyways? Can you say scrub.....

So you're all about the bling-bling, you don't really want a work vehicle.

As for the full time vehicle i will be usin my dad's 2003 1500hd silverado, v8 6.0 ltr. I will be towing an 12x6 trailer, loaded with an 61'' ztr and a 36'' w/b along with a few self pace mowers and handhelds.
Here's an idea - since you already have a full time vehicle & decent equipment, how about going out and making some money and buying YOUR OWN car instead of having mommy and daddy buy you one?

If your budget only allows for a small truck buy a Nissan Frontier.

                              Don't critizen people too quick

                              The C Man....
I don't have a full time vehicle, yet.... I wish i did, instead of riding the bus, while the rest of my class drives... Ridin the bus @ age of 17 suxs as*, while watchin the rest of ur friends drive!!

As for the chevy, i said it would be full time, do to my LCO schedule.... i only cut 3-4 days a week, so outta 4days of the week my dad will switch vehicles with me....

I still need a vehicle for me to drive around, and to switch with him so he can drive to his stores......

Also, I didn't finish what i was going to say about my parents.... Some people really just like to just jump on people, escepially teenagers..... My parents are buyin this vehicle as an graduate presents, maybe in your views this is not a factor of praise... but in their opinion, myself graduating and going off to college, is something to praise.... This is an award of my studies for the last 12years.....

Maybe you will understand some day, that if somebody does something thats good, then its good to praise them....
