I would check the search feature and narrow down your search to size lots you are mowing and other conditions you failed to mention you might want to look into proof-reading your post for spelling

hey mr. rocket scientist, ........ these dots are called periods. they go at the end of sentences.

as far as the mowers go, what do you use now?

Sorry I am not too good at spelling!! Right now I mainly use a 22" Pushmower and I would like a walk behind with about 36".(give or take a couple) And I mow smaller residential yards and only one or so big lots.

if your looking for a cheap 36 that will get the job done try smallenginewarehouse.com I got a 48" Bradley(Redhawk) belt drive there with a 12.5 Kaw there last April and had only one problem this year, a bad belt. But for 1590 a brand new wb delivered to my front door, how could I go wrong? Though keep in mind you have to have to be mechanically inclined to go this route since they only have a 90day parts 2 year motor warranty. Plus you can order all the parts online at havener 's website. Anyways my buddy went the same route as I and the guy who put his together didn't put everything together right so he had a couple problems right off the bat but you could have someone go over it for you for about 150 or so (local tuneup rate) and make the necessary adjustments to avoid a similiar situation. So that would bring the total to about 1650 far less than any dealership which would be about 500 more. This is the cheapest route I found for getting something new. I took it and it worked out good for me. But only you know the path that will work for you. Good luck whatever you do..........

you haven't said what your budget would be so that makes it difficult to advise you. If you could afford a dual hydro you probably would be very happy for about $3,500 (lesco). If your budget is around $2500 then you'd be looking at a new belt drive or used hydro (which is not a bad option). If your looking to spent around $1500 then your looking at used belt drives or an older hydro. The commercial quick 36 seems to be a good alternative for hydro under $2500. I have a used 36 exmark belt drive that I bought for $500, but I only use it for about 30 minutes a week. If a 36 was going to be my primary mower I'd look at new hydro (either the quick 36 or lesco).

Also Bradleys are good mowers they are a well constructed basic design with a pistol grip handle and they stripe pretty well. To really be able to make a good decision for you go to play with some equipment at a local dealer and see what you like then shop around to get a good deal. Belt drives are the cheaper route they require more work and strength. Hydros are nicer if you have the cash. New mowers obviously have less problems but you still can get a good deal on a used mower. Just invest in what you like, grease your wheels and spindles a couple times a week do maintenance at the prescribed time and you should be pretty trouble free though things happen so try to have a little cash account with a few hundred in it in case something does go wrong. Also how are you going to transport this mower do you have a trailer? Do you think your business will grow after next year requiring a even larger trailer and another mower? Just some questions you should start asking yourself.

jonathan, no need to be sorry about spelling. i was cracking on the other guy for his remark to you and then he doesn't use periods at the end of his sentence. hell 99% of us here can't spell.

back to the mower , i use exmark but if $$$ is an issue you might look into the quick36. you really need to park the 22".

Yes I know i need to park it lol. I have about 15 or so customers and growing, and im geting tired of usin the push mower. I tested this one hydraulic mower a 36" and a 50" of the same mower. I loved it!! You like stand or some come for ya to sit on this thing, and its pretty much like a zero turn walkbehind!! I wish i had a picture to show you! The 36" was $5k and that was used. and the reason i want about 36" is that it would be able to do my big lawns in less time and still be able to fit into and to my smaller lawns. What i can spend depends on wat i make in snow removal this winter!! So if we get plenty of snow i might get the $5k one but other than that its goin to be some where like $1,500-$2,500.

As for transportation I have a truck and ramps, but i do see the need in the future of gettin a small trailer!

Thanks for your guy's help, im still new to this and can use as much advice as i can get lol thanks a million!!

Jonathan, $2500 gets you very close to a 36" classic Toro with the T-bar.

If you don't go that route, you might want to go find the nearest Lesco dealer and check out what they have to offer. You can definitely walk away from there with a new truly commercial mower within your price range.

                    Good luck.

Have you tried to search ebay for good used mowers within close proximity to your location? For your amount of money you could likely purchase a good used 36" belt drive along with a trailer to haul it on and still have money left. Better to buy now before the spring demand hits & prices increase.

Years ago I bought a 36" Exmark Metro w/ only 40 hours off ebay for $1,300.

So i should be able to order this mower at any of my Toro Dealers? And ive been told that i should try a mower out before i would buy it, what do i do about that?

And you said no mower has exceeded it yet, so i take it that this is a really dependable mower and i shouldnt have any problems at all rite ??
and its mowing speed is 6mph if i saw the right one, is that a good amount, and are the rpms powered enough for really goin through the grass?

Take a look at this one.. i like this one!

Also another question for you, i was readin the testimonials of the ppl with exmarks, they say metros are good too, wat ya think.

                              Thanks for ur time!!
