He simply asked what its worth and you said dont listen to the knuckleheads

And I'm certainly not TELLING him what to do or not to do. But my way will work and make him money. I've been successful for over 15 years now without another job to live off of.

Oh yeah, please don't take this wrong that I don't agree with you. Hell it's just grass and litter nobody will die from it, Rev.
Then you come back with an attitude because i politely explain why i disagree with you????????

It was simply a question of him asking what its worth and you basically said :

"Don't listen to these hard-heads big talk"

Who talked big ?????i If anything i thought the pricing was cheap.....

Plus you know your way will make him money !!!! what 100 bucks a year ???

And "you know" he wont be driving anything useing gas .... How do you know that when he joked he might drive the Z around with a pointy stick ??????

How does what [you do] equate to knowing exactly what method (he will use) ???? Are you physic also???????

And your special because you've been in the same biz for 15 yrs?????

WOW quite the accomplishment.... That makes you special "i guess" , but i know people with the same job for 40 years and they claim to be stuck in a hole or rut because they cant grow....

    Also:

My toilets worked fine for 15 years (doing the same job) and their not bragging , but that doesnt make them the special "all knowing" , "wisest" toilets on the planet......

That ain't no little area he`s gonna have to cover , so $20- $30 i think is pretty reasonable..... If you look at the picture and compare the size of the cars to the entire area he`s gonna have to do a lot of walking including trampling through rows of brush.....

I would go out on a limb and say that's almost 1 1/2 - 2 acres of land , and pavement that needs to be searched through because it surely looks bigger then the typical private yard......

If they fired him over $20-$30 bucks for searching the entire area shown i would be quite surprised whether he had to pick a bubble gum wrapper up or not.....

Plus i would personally use a mower or somthing to drive portions of the area because as i said it looks pretty big to me , and walking it off searching would be very time consuming.....

I think he even joked about driving around on his Z mower and picking up what he could with a pointy stick , then said he was just kidding , but in all honesty that would be the smartest way to do it useing gas (as i said)...

I bet that's what he`ll end up doing , ( but was afraid to say so) because there's so many make believe , wanna be jerks here who wanna make this out to be rocket science that would say "ohhh that not right , and unprofessional " when any motivated 14 yr old kid could do it....

Should he measure the property out and find out the SQ footage , remove the footage of the buildings footprint from the total and try to figure it all out that way instead of going by a bunch of hardheads?????

Do you even know how to figure the sq footage out on a non square uneven peace of property like that , if you had the property numbers??????

I could , but i doubt you could.....

Ohhh but either way nobody will die regardless , i`ll throw that in also as you did for whatever reason , like that's relevant to his question .....

Considering it costs $100 + just to have a car detailed , and cleaned out properly , and i think a thousand + cars could be packed in that total described area , i see nothing wrong with him charging $30 bucks to make sure its kept clean and keep the whole thing simple......

You wanna change prices week to week depending on how long it takes you each week making the customer definitely question why is the price fluctuating every week???? Be my guest , but i think 1 price given that they can count on paying ,without having to explain fluctuations is the smarter way to go.....

If anything i think their getting a bargain price , but considering or assuming he`s there already , and already used the gas getting there i wasn't gonna say "you have to charge more".....

Length X width divided by 2 will get the area of a triangle.

I was joking with you about the "don't take it wrong" thing because you said it and I didn't take it wrong.

      I also said
my prices were examples. It could take an hour and ahalf to pick up the trash and that would come to $90. There is also the good chance that there will be different amounts of trash from week to week. So $35 might be way too cheap at certain times.

I probably shouldn't have used the word "hardheads" but I didn't know you were gonna be so touchy about that.

You are dead-on right about using the mower and a sharp stick. I would.

About the 15 years, just wanted to state that I've picked up my share of trash and that I new a little about it.

I also agree with you on nearly everything you have said.

So no hard feelings. On second thought you can just kiss my goddamn ass.

I`ll accept that despite not knowing if its an insult or not .....

Your comeback was fairly quick and humorous....

So there's no hard feeling on my side plus somebody has to type somthing to keep the board active....

Ohh the area formula for a triangle was on the right tract but really wouldn't get you close enough because that property has significant footage on its narrowest end .....

Your on the right track though but you have to add the 2 ends then divide that by 2 and multiply that number by the long side of the property...

Well maybe that's what you mean but your shortening it up.... I do get to detail orientated.....

Actually for that odd lot its more complicated but i`ll spare you that

oh boy lol. I stated that I would keep a bucket and stick on the Z w/ me, so while mowing I would just pick that stuff up then. The place is close to 2 acres, but most of if it is building, parking lots, and sidewalks as you can see.
          oooooooooo yyyyeah

I thought you were keeping the entire complex clean.....

Are you only picking up areas to be mowed and leaving the parking lots filled with garbage????? ?????

Who cleans the bottles that fall out of cars , and other garbage that i see in parking lots?????

possibly they have somebody that does that already but then i would think that company would pick up the garbage on the grass and in bushes.....

I would keep the whole place clean or try to get paid to do it ,, plus try to get the yellow striping account (for the car parking) plus offer pressure washing for the cars that leak oil all over the asphalt....

$$$$$$$$ `s galore all in spots your already working in , but that's what i would do and i can only suggest......

AS i said i dont limit myself and will program remotes , hook up cable tv splitters , move tv`s around , and expand into other rooms , reset clocks they cant figure out ,install new breakers , paint , replace roofing slates or tiles , or anything i can figure out, for the extra $$$ when im there already and they need a jack of all trades......

              You're OK Transman.

I learned land measurment in highschool. I was in FFA in the forestry class. We had an teacher that had been there 40 years. Anyway when we went to a competition he did not go there to place second. He drilled us everyday on land measurment, pulpwood and saw timber, and tree ID. So I do know a little bit about it.

If I really had to know I'd go to the county prop. appraiser's website and get the info there.

I gotta go back to work, ya'll be nice and pickup some gum wrappers out of the beds while I'm getting rich on my redneck business plan.

Whatever you decide you need to double it and add 15% to offset all the cost for this consulting you been getting.

Do you have all those safety gizmo's still intact that shut the machine down if your not on the machine?????

Well the blades i shut off anyway before getting off the mower....

Machines with the seat cut off are a little ridiculas as far as im concerned though and i do away with that plus if left intact eventually it goes bad then wont run the day you really need it anyway....

Then iv seen machines where you cant back up with the blades going .....

                    So ridiculous .....

I always disable that junk because if my grandpappy was smart enough to not fall under the mower with it running i figure i ain't dumb enough to fall under the whirling blades either.....

To much gov involvement so called safety devices to protect everyone from themselves , and they wonder why everyone is becoming stupid....

                    Well JMO on that ....

one Z does still have the seat switch, the other doesn't so it depends which one I'm riding. This is a heavy traffic area, so I don't feel getting off, and pick the **** up w/ my hands, cuz I would probably forget I touched the garbage then pick my nose lol.

this is what steve-o would do...

i was messing b/4 cause somebody has to be the bad guy. i have a minimum charge for every thong i do. oops. i meant thing. in this case i would charge your minimum. some days you might spend 10 minutes doing this garbage detail and other days you might spend 30 minutes. it will all work out in the end. i would have something in a contract about severe thunderstorms, tornados in pa., and maybe a stray hurricane like ole isabell we had a few years back that come far inland here in hooterville. the price would jump for these rare deals.
