  • One of those days....

Thought I would have a productive day turning on some irrigation systems and fertilizing over 20 lawns.

    Wrong.

Fertilized a measly six lawns and cranked up seven systems (only three had no issues to contend with). Not cool. Maybe I should sell my business? :alien::alien::alien:

Bad things must come in threes...

Today the hydro pump belt on the Deere suddenly got shredded, just 4 lawns left to go too... I hope it's nothing big.....other than just a belt.

Got it on the trailer fine. Good thing I keep a supply of back-up units. Grab 'n go.

    What will tomorrow bring?

as the old saying goes " mama said there would be days like these " .

hang in there and shake it off and forget about it because when you let one bad day get the best of you it has a way of continueing.

        yesterday is dead and gone.

I have been waiting on new spindles for two weeks. Talk about slow going. I cannot put the mower on full power for the spindle wobbles thus throwing the belt! Man...it was murder...

Check those belts in the winter, & that wouldn't be a problem. Changed out two belts on the exmarks this winter.

Just carry an extra belt, new or used will work.

get yourself all eXmark stuff and you won't have these problems. i have never had a belt break, but then again, i only have 3 yards a week instead of 80. :alien:

                          Glad the week is over!!!!

Today, lost a gas cap on the toro zmaster. Felt something wet on my shirt. Come to find out a gas cap was missing and gas was splashing on me. :alien:

Took 15 minutes to find the damn cap. Damn thing became unscrewed as I mowed along side a row of shrubs.

On the bright side, finally finished my mantis tiller rebuild. Bought the POS for $50. Figured it was good. No. One piston ring was broken. Engine locked up. :alien:

Replaced the rings last year and smoothed out the cylinder from a couple burs. D1cked with the carb last year but never got it just right. Never really needed it, so I put it up on the shelf to collect dust.

This year I wanted it for my garden. Cut to the chase - found a new carb on ebay to fit the tiller (echo engine). Put her on today and she fired right up with minor adjustments. Used it to 'cultivate' my garden. Like a new engine! Total invested in the rebuilt Mantis- ~$100.
