This tree is beyond being saved. I cut it down to soil level. Next limb to fall would have taken out the rickety fence.

    What happened:
Customer planted this tree ~40 years ago. Said it was maybe 3' tall then.

What led up to it's poor structure:
    Poor care from the get-go.

How many times do we see this? Small trees that are just left to grow as they want? Trees ain't smart. Had this tree been pruned correctly during it's infant years, it'd still be standing today. :alien::alien::alien:

Sealer is worthless. Proven it takes the tree longer to heal a wound having been sealed vs a pruning cut that was unsealed. Not to mention sealer is rather ugly. :alien::alien::alien:

As a landscape contractor who knows how to prune, I run into this sealer myth all the time. Alot of people then say that it wouldn't be sold if it wasn't needed! Bullsheet, its called a "profit center" and every business has one. The auto sales people try to upsell "protection" for the paint which is just several coats of buffed wax coatings; or they upsell undercoating which wears off at the first rain; or they try to upsell interior fabric protection which is a couple cans of Scotch Guard. i quit buying that add on crap when I purchased a couch and bought the "fabric protection" and then witnessed them spray it onto the couch on a windy day and most of my $60 "protection" flew off on the wind. What a rip-off.

Well that is what sealer is-a rip off; it makes you feel good about the tree but does little of protecting the tree. Sealer seals in the wood rotting infections and prevents the tree from healing itself.

I would tell them to hire a certified arborist.

Ya, the grass looks like crap, did you mow it ? Check your r.p.m.'s, maybe not enough deck suction to make all the grass stand up for your mower to cut.

Hey, thanks for the "tree health lesson". I'm sure it was "recepted" by all.

Ain't nothing wrong with providing a little stimulation to a lawn apes mind. You know many don't even venture beyond the lawn section. A great mind never ceases to learn. :alien::alien::alien:
