That is pretty much someone's opinion. In the military you took any chance you could to cool down and the fire service is no different(you want to talk about heat!). I am currently about 2/3 of the way through Paramedic training and even in there have never heard of that being a big deal. In fact, what is taught is to cool yourself down whenever possible and keep hydrated to avoid heat emergencies.

And I guess for me my body adapts because I have literally gone from parachuting into the snow in Alaska one week to the deserts of Kuwait the next without issue. Heck, I remember in Ranger school shivering my butt off one night in mountain phase and then sweating like no tomorrow on a run/forced march the next day. The human body is an amazing thing if you can control your mind.

thats great but i'm not really interested in reading posts from anyone let alone a new guy who thinks he is the sheot. bragging about his military training and paramedic training and "they say you should do it this way". nor do i wanna hear that "you think you work in the heat....." sheot either. none of that makes you better than me or anyone else in this world.

so if they say you should jump off a bridge ya going do it???

i've heard many many many more people say people who work outside in the heat should avoid using air conditioning to cool down (like between jobs when mowing) it keeps your body from fulling adjusting to the heat. and personally i have found that to be very very true. so i'll stick to not using the air until my very last client of the day.

Driving around with A/C on in the truck during those hot ass days is like opening a hot oven for the start of every job.

        No thank you.................

Sweat is the bodies natural means of air conditioning. Why **** with it?

Newbie? Maybe as far as registering but I have been around reading for years but that is fine. I have been here long enough to spot your ignorance quickly enough. You ask if I would jump off a bridge if others say to do it but you are the one stating how you have "heard" not to use a/c so you don't.

Makes you sound kind of ignorant there bud..........

And as for me "bragging" about my military and paramedic training......nah....not bragging. I was actually just qualifying the fact that I have the training and EXPERIENCE to know what I am talking about so that you could see I was not yet another internet "hard ass" who thinks he knows everything. Oh, wait, maybe that is where you come in!

I am probably one of the most selfless, grounded people you could meet. I have spent most of my adult life in service to my country and helping others.

Through that I have been able to spot ignorant and stupid people pretty easily and right now I am trying to figure out if you are one or the other or a combination of both.

i'm still spewing it, thats why i jumped on racer there.

he was spewing his i'm in the military and a paramedic so i know more than you and you should run the a/c between jobs sheot.

i don't care what kind of schooling someone has, or what kind of knowledge. to me neither of those things mean sheot.

you can have 2 guys running lawn businesses. one has a kolledge edmucation and been in the business 40 years (seriously i'm not picking on ya on this one). and another who's never spent a day in his life in kolledge and been in the business 5 years. and IMO the guy with no kolledge and 5 years in the business could know more than the 40 year kolledge dude.

and it really doesn't have anything with who's rite or wrong who knows more than who. it's about what works for one person may not work for another.

i personally have found it true running the a/c between jobs makes it extremely hard to get fully use to the heat. i get all kooled off and then the heat seems that much hotter. if i open windows and just use the fan pulling in outside air it's not nearly as bad.

I never use my ac and I drink coffee and powerade til happy hour. I cant roll my winders up cause all my helpers smoke when there in the truck. I actually prefer that so my customers don't see them smoking on the site or throwing butts anywhere. 89 and i never cracked a sweat today.

You really are an idiot aren't you? I mean to make a post that knowledge doesn't mean anything? Seriously? You brush your teeth don't you? Well someone with KNOWLEDGE passed it on down the line for you to do it you know! Maybe now you should brushing them since that person might have went to school and learned about it!

Obviously you have a lot of jealousy towards people that might actually know more than you (which obviously isn't hard).

I do agree that college isn't everything, common sense can be more valuable most of the time. Most times you find people have one or the other and once in a while a combination of the two but you seem to lack both so you really got screwed.........it's ok though, our society is quickly dumbing down so you will seem smarter soon enough

                        think what you want.

all i'm saying is just because you are in the military and are training to be a paramedic and in those 2 situations you have learned its better to catch the kool a/c when you can doesn't make it a hard 100% fact that it's true.

i don't choose the people i listen to based off of there edumacation. so when i decide to ignore someone's advice and they fire back that they have this degree or that degree or was trained in this or that, it goes in my left ear and out the right ear.

A couple of things for you.......

If you actually had any reading comprehension ability you would see that I USED to be in the military. Also, you have stated many times your aversion to education and that experience is the thing but yet when someone posts about actual real world experience (something I think you are sorely lacking) you discount it.

Also, I never presented it as 100% fact. If anything you did.

You did post one thing that makes a lot of sense to all of us here I think, the fact that it goes in the left ear and out the right.......I think that pretty much sums up your life.
