This will be my second season and I'm looking forward to it, I'm hoping to grow a little more this year, I'm staying part time until I know I can work this thing on my own. I have some good customers and I wouldn't want to lose them, I hope I can pick up more just like them this season. Good luck to all this year.

Second year in the business. It is profitable if you work hard! I'll be back for sure down here in Friendswood, Texas.

Going to be my second year. Last year I didn't have any trailer or commercial mowers; only 1 Stihl Blower, 1 Stihl Whacker, 2 barrels, a manual hedge clipper, a 5x8 pickup bed, and two 21" mowers. I managed to survive with school and part time job on weekdays while doing 3-10 hours landscape work on weekends. It was real tuff but great hearing the positive compliments and getting referals due to my hard work. This year I promised my self to de-scrub a bit and in the proces of paying off a brand new Exmark 36" and looking into a trailer. I got an Echo pb-650 blower and echo hc-1500 headger. With the new equipment I can't even imagine how much productivity wil increase and physical labor will decrease. Thank you every one for the info good luck!

I'm new the forum but have visited everyday since I started my lawn services. I'm learning a lot from this group and hope to be able to contribute someday.[]

well i just finished my first year part time.....i would love to do it full time. but where i am from its very competitive and expensive(insurance and equipment). I origianlly was in the swimming pool service business so that is where i get most of my customers from....I still do pools and now offer lawns, planting, design, powerwashing and plowing. the hardest thing im finding is to leave my old job completely... i and my customers did notice that i didnt have 100% into my services because i was part time and also had to get some day workers to do the work for me which cut down on my profit a bit and caused me to loose a few customers. This year I want to jump into it and go full time for myself, but im worried,I dont wanna not be able to make my bills or rent or blah blah blah..... i think the only way ill be successful is to just jump in with both feet...how did the rest of yas do it?
