  • sq. feet in an acre

How many square feet are in an acre? When I measure with the wheel, I take LxW, which gives me sq footage. Then I divide that number by the number of sq. footage footage in an acre. Right? That's why I need to know how many sq. feet are in an acre. Thanks

The area of a property that you are going to give an estimate on is the starting point for the estimate for me. Then you will need to calculate in the areas that need to be stringtrimmed, edged, the difficulty of mowing (ie. hills, if property is cut up, if property is all open etc.)

                      Simply put.....Length X Width = sq ft

43,560 sq ft in an acre.

why are you dividing it by an acre's square footage? You want the area sq. footage for what you are doing, L X W..that's it. The only reason to add the step of dividing by the acre sq. footage is to determine how many acres or % of acres you have, but that does nothing for figuring your sq. footage. Example. area is a rectangle 400 feet by 720 feet (400 x 720= 288,000 sq feet)...there is your area. If you want to know how many acres that is THEN divide by 43,560 ( Area / Acreage sq. ft =) 6.61 acres in the above example. Hope that helps.
