Sodbuster, you need to go read some of those sites. Most won because they put down chemicals that were not called for, or requested. Some won because they applied chemicals AFTER the client canceled and called multiple times. Then TG demanded payment! Guess what, to me, I think that's a rip off too!
Those sites prove that I am not the only one complaining.
Again. It is a FACT that putting down Pre-M when the soil temps aren't near ready, and the following months treatment is better timed, is a waste, and in turn a rip off.
I feel that the BMW 7 series is a rip off. I also feel that the Chevy Aero is rip off because it is 100% Daewoo, but has a Chevy logo.
Oh no, 2 more BIG companies gonna sue me for my opinion.
Get real.
Oh, 17 degrees tonight with snow flurries. Sounds like it's almost time for round #2!a.k.a.---> Erich

Maybe they will maybe not, regardless, it's still slanderous and that is the point. You have no professional horticulture credentials and would not be considered an expert by the court. On the other hand, ChemLawn would be recognized as experts. You would have zero chance of defending yourself in a slander case because ChemLawn made a proper application in Feb.
You don't even know what they are applying and at what rates, and your screaming rip-off. The only rip-off is you and your uninformed accusation of rip-off.Sodbuster®

I still can't believe all those thousands and thousands of people are gonna get sued by Chemlawn because they posted issues like I did! Oh wait, those people actually sued Chemlawn and WON for doing what I said.
But of course, you say that I am the only one that can't mention that I feel it is a rip off.
How's this, I think Sony is ripping people off because they say their wide screen TV is the best, but Consumer reports says Toshiba is. Oh no, yet another BIG company going to sue me!!!
So lets see, I gave my opinions about....Velvetta, Chemlawn, BMW, Chevy, Sony....I'm screwed!
I also think Kellogs frosted flakes contain too much sugar!
When I get my pizza from Pizza Hut, I sometimes feel like I was ripped off!
I think Diet Coke with Lime tastes horrible, and feel like McDonalds is ripping people off by charging $1.49 for a glass of it! (man gonna get sued by Coke and McDonalds!)
When I see landscape walls built only on soil, without a gravel base, I feel that the client got ripped off.
Man, I'm gonna be in court for years!a.k.a.---> Erich

Stay focused on the main topic. Erich observers ChemLawn applying materials to a lawn and gets on the internet and screams ChemLawn is a rip-off. Erich has no facts of the contract between customer and client, any facts pertaining to the specific application, no facts other then an application was made. Is this jealously driven case of slander?Sodbuster®

First you say the ground is frozen solid too early to begin, then I check the national weather service and they report the ground is not frozen. In fact, February weather in your hood has been mild by all standards. Now you say you've been busy doing some planting? I don't know who to trust you and your frozen solid ground can't make any apps, but you are planting! Or the national weather service observations for the month of February which states mild conditions for the entire month, and chemlawn is out servicing their customers as they should be.
I think you are crying rip-off because you are not busy at all. In fact, All you have to do currently is complain about busy ChemLawn. Arby's and Popeye’s chicken don’t have a budget to pay for February services, so you've been sidelined till March at the earliest.
Every rose has its thorn, dealing with low budget fast food joints is a thorn in your side.

Average daily Temp for Cincinnati Ohio for this date is 45 degrees. Temp right now is 38 degrees. Like I said looks like they are right on top of cutting edge research, getting that N down for late winter root growth!

Sodbuster, you may not know this, but you CAN plant shrubs when the ground is 35 degrees. It has been 'frozen solid' for the past week, as I stated. We planted earlier than that and just laid the mulch to finish it up. I'll post pictures. Oh, and they will be MY pictures, not someone elses. Nice try though.
As for the weather site you posted? The daily temps are taken at the Cincinnati Airport. That is located in Kentucky (believe it or not). I live about 40 minutes from there. Sometimes we get 5 inches of snow and they don't get anything but a little rain. Not unusual. Heck, that website didn't even mention that we got 2.5" of snow a couple weeks ago, I think it said it was 51 degrees! But we got snow. It also said it was 68 degrees a couple days ago. I can assure you, it wasn't 68 at my shop.
Also, just because it gets up to 45 during the day for a couple days, doesn't mean the ground temps are 45, not to mention 53 for crabgrass. It gets down in the teens at night.
By the way, I don't even know what "Popeye's chicken" is. And I do think it's funny that you think Red Lobster or O'Charleys doesn't have a budget for maintenance. They likely spend more than any other commercial sites because it has to look good all the time.Last edited by Scaper-S2k; 02-18-05, 06:15 PM.a.k.a.---> Erich

OH NO! Is that 'slander' or libel? I have no doubt you will be sued for such statments!!!If you need a good lawyer, let me know, I alerted mine yesterday that I may be getting sued by Chevy, Velvetta, Chemlawn, BMW, Sony, Pizza Hut, Kellogs, Coke, and McDonalds. I also told him to watch out for Walmart because I went to buy a computer mouse and it was $19. I told one of my employees that it was a 'Rip Off'!!! :p

I can see why ChemLawn is the largest lawn care company in the world. As much as I enjoy getting customers from them, I can't help but respect the ChemLawn organization.
Look, I'm getting ready to spend the weekend with my stay at home wife and the kids at our home in the country. Spent all week at our home in the burbs, time to enjoy Timber Creek Farm. Daytona 500 on the big screen, wall to wall coverage and good times to enjoy. None of this would be possible, if I moaned and complained all day about who is the first out of the starter gate in 2005. I think you learned something here and hopefully next year it will be you.
Fire up the grill and let’s get it on….Daytona 500 is the main event, baby. It doesn’t get any better than this. Don't forget to use the 3-peace salute, whether in traffic, watching it in HDTV or at the track. 7 Winston cups, I can see Dale now, bump'em in the azz, keep you foot on the gas, and don't quite till your in victory lane.Sodbuster®

The only thing I learned in this thread is that some companies will make up any reason to tack on another treatment. Yet none of these lawns look any better than the ones getting 4-5 treatments per year! But I'm horrible for saying that 8 treatmenst is rediculous.
Ground temps at 35, crabgrass starts at 50 or so. But 'What if' we have a day where soil temps hit 40 for 2 hours in the afternoon, 2 days in Feb! Shew, throw down a chemical.
We all know that in a well maintained lawn, chickweed isn't going to make an appearance even if soil temps hit 40 for a week, then go back down to 35. Let alone crabgrass.
Heck, a nice yard that has been maintained with apps for years may not see but a couple weeds all year, and maybe no crabgrass at all.....EVEN if all those treatments were missed for the year!
But I'm the bad guy for pointing that out! Sue me!a.k.a.---> Erich
