Around here the correct application of fertilizer can give you one or sometimes two extras cuts for the year.
Here we mow all year around, winter time the grass slows right down, but a good dose of fertilizer just before winter can get you the extra cuts, most people dont bother around here but 100 extra cuts for the season 100@$35 can buy you a nice drop of beer, if you manage to get two extra cuts 200@$35 thats a few more beers or lemonade,,, therefore Steve is not as silly as he looks, the princables the same over there, fertilize well near the end of season.
