Do any of you have a preferance in fire ant killer or bait? I don't have any experience with them and am looking for help. Thanks George

Are You Sure They Are Fire Ants?????

I would use both. Use the killer around the mound is and put baits around your house. Below is a good article that explains how to get rid of ants.

u really need a product call extinguish Plus a bait. 1 lb shaker can does 2/3 of an acre and it cost 14.00 a pound in 1 lb shaker cans. it has hydramethylnon and s-methoprene doing large properties it will keep fire ants out for 6 months or more. mfg by wellmark. works wonders here in florida

I know this just might sound a little lame but just give it a try and see what you think. Pour some Grits on the mound. Wait 24 hours. Water the mound. The grits are a PURE food source so the drone takes this striaght to the queen. The water makes the grits swell up resulting in the choking of the queen and all the others that ate them. Ive tried this many times and have had a better then 75% success rate.
