Just to Clear things up for Inquiring Minds...

When & if this happens in star date 2010, everybody will have to deal with it (And Adapt) or lose out No Big Deal?

Think how hard it was to do business & create a Market in South Georgia from the mid to late 80's? Not that many people could afford to have their grass cut back then... Lot of people back then work all day for a 20 dollar bill & a free lunch, they do a good job & they might get a nice pair of Used Shoes to Boot Plus a ride home!

But I got paid a hell of a lot more Money back then than people get paid now for the same job & look at how the cost of living has went up & Price for services has went down down down. It ain't my fault I was "The Competition" & I Kept those prices up there!

    Ric..

This is coming from a Very Proud Redneck American, I'm not a Minority & never would consider myself one & Could I????

My Fathers Father was Full Blooded Indian
My Fathers Mother was 3/4 Indian & 1/4 French
My Mothers Mother was half Indian & LOL Half Cajun???? Probably Indian & a Little Brotha in that last half T00!
My Mothers Father was Full Blooded Indian

I own land that has been handed down through generations of Indians in Worth County Georgia that the President gave my ancestors.

Last count there is still over 30 Indian Graves on it (Grave Robbers Slowly getting Dug up for Artifacts), one is about 6 feet wide & about 20 feet long, I figure a Horse, a Chief, a Few Squaws & a Tee Pee or 2, Probably Chief Farting 5-ash or somebody else? Who knows & who cares they are all dead as crap.

Several on my side & many on my wife side members of the DAR, if it wasn't for a lot of my folks it would be members of the WAR? LOLAYA

My wife is a descendant of Betsy Ross & LOL a lot of her Kin worked 1,000's of hours in Sewing Factories in South Georgia!

To make matters worse the White Mans Government made my father change his name from 5-Ash to Fiveash one of the biggest shames ever bestowed amongst a Man wanting to be an American Soldier so he could fight in WWII, but he did it & he paid dearly for it until the day he died!

I grew up in what you call a Minority Neighborhood, BOO HOO & had my butt kicked many times for being a White Boy, but I damn sure could play basket ball!

None of this made me a whining Minority, Hell No, Does it make me a Injun, well it doesn't really matter to me, I prefer to be a South Georgia Redneck but one thing for sure I'm mostly Indian, but you will never see me riding the minority blues bus...

BTW: I asked Chief Farting 5-ash & his Bish Squaw Indian Princess Pootie Tang did y'all invite any of these folks to our country? And do you know what they said...

They said "Hell NO Mr. 5-Ash & Look at what they've done Our Beautiful Country" that was good enough for me! LOLAYA

We all reap what we sew & the ones that reap the negative is because they have negative thoughts (Negative Attitude) about themselves! Very Sad!

I reap what I sew & I do mighty good at it because I perceive myself as a Public School Raised South Georgia Redneck... I'm a Unique 1 of a kind Individual & Most Know it when they meet me! My Actions Speak for Themselves!

It's America & I have Choices, So I'm a Proud Azz American & Will be one to the Day I die! Ta Da!

The sentence below will translate a lot better than the ones you wrote above, I'm pretty damn good in Spelling & Grammar in most languages, just like everybody else... Bable What? Tongue-Piece & Hazel Nut, Come on give me a break? Do it right the first time!

How do prices compare, my prices vs hispanic.

I really cant answer that without lying. I'm really not sure what they charge, but I have an idea that it's a little cheaper than what I could do it for. I have to pay taxes, they don't. I have to pay insurance, they don't.

But they're just trying to make it just like the next man.

Translating words on the net doesn't alway translate the meaning of those words.

In World War II the German's ask if American troops were ready to surrender. The reply came back as "NUTS" and there was no way to translate that into German.

Now if you prefer I can reply to Fil in English. However I can assure you, you would not like my replies any better.

The botttom line is the world changes around us all the time. We either learn to adapt or we go away. If our customers needs change and our competion changes then we must change to meet their needs and compete or we will go the way of the doddo bird. lots of business go out of business everyday because they refuse to change. I hear it all the time "we have always done it that way" well guess what? that way dosn't work any more. know your customers and know your competion.

Well me I speak one language and until I die I'll speak one language. I see but one race and thats the human race. I don't have time in this world to worry about the other guy. I barely have enough time to worry about me.

I deal with people under cutting all the time I don't worry about it. There are alot of people that do palms for for $8.00 to $10.00 a palm let them. I won't do it but they can. I have also seen alot their work and it looks like crap but by God the people that hired them saved a few bucks. Then when they realize it looks like crap and they call me up I charge them alot more for fixing someone elses mess. Then I tell them from now on if use me to do your palms you will be charged the competive price and you will have great looking palms. The choice is theirs. Same with tree work as well if we have to go in and straighten up some idiots mess then it going to cost them alot more than if they would have hired us to do it right the first time.

If someone wants to work for me they have to speak good english or they don't work for me. Plain and simple and if I need something done that I can't do then who I hire to do it also has to speak good english or I'll find someone that can. I don't have time to mess with language barriers and I am to dang old to learn another language.

Am I ready for 2010 no I am doing good just to get through 2004 and trying to prepare for 2005 if I am alive in 2009 I'll worry about 2010. Right now I am just a blue collar stiff trying to make it day to day and start a lawn care business so that I can leave a job that is taking its toll on me and get into a job where I am not killing myself and be my own boss.

Could it be that as the Hispanic population grows ... Latinos & Hispanics will "prefer" to hire Latino or Hispanic landscape companies? ... is that a concern to anybody or should it be? Sometimes "minorities" isolate themselves until they command a bigger percentage of the population ... immigrants have always done this ... grouped together with those who speak their language, and share the same concerns.

Just looking for opinions ... as to how this might impact the landscape business if at all.

We Americans are Becoming a Lazier Society...

As time goes on there will be lessor & lessor people willing to go out the door everyday to perform Hard Physical Labor.

It's been in print that the average Male lives at home until age 25, I know of several that have already completed college & still live at home a year later waiting on that perfect job and they will not settle for less, which I think is very sad.

These people are too good to work any other job or maybe they just enjoy the Free Ride! We have made & molded these people to what they are because we allow it & accept it!

Our Society is getting to good to the point that they are too good to work. There's only a few perfect jobs out there. The Companies that provide the perfect jobs are shrinking every day.

You can't get a Perfect job working for Firestone, Delphi, Enron, Coke a Cola, Pratt Whitney & many other places, our past has proven that.

The people we have coming into the Green Industry work force were once professionals working for these big companies, they grew tired of others controlling their destiny, their vacation schedules, their retirement & so forth.

My wife thinks that all her problems will be solved if she gets a job working for a big company & when she gets that second or third phone call from the kids wanting her to leave work & bring lunch money or bring her - her Soccer clothes & the Boos Says No you've already done that twice in the past 3 weeks. Well that's the day she quits her not so Perfect Crappy job & she realizes that she made a mistake...

This is what drives us to become self employed, it's not the Money because for over 90% of us could make more working for the other man in less time...

                              Being Self Employed:
It's about Freedom, Making our own Choices, getting to do what we want to do & right or wrong it's our choice! We do it our way...

This is where our future work force is coming from, LOL people that is Sick & Tired of other peoples BS and what Better way of doing it...

Free Your Mind & Release your Ass is what being self employed is all about...

In most cases it's common knowledge that first time homeowners do their own lawns, that their lawns that used to be described in Acres is now just a few 1,000 sq.ft. of lawn...

As time goes on the prices for services will continue to drop because the market is being raped & robbed every day by people that think they know what they are doing.

It's like playing Lawn Service Survivor as time goes on it gets tougher & harder to compete but it's supposed to, because you guys (WE, You & Them) are making it that way.

30 Years ago you could make good money growing Christmas Trees, now everybody & their brother is doing it. The very same thing is happening to the green industry.

The majority of people see this when they see a lawn service guy going down the road, they see a New Truck, Employees & New Equipment... that's basically what they see no more & no Less...

LOL, if ever body would quit buying new trucks & new equipment, your competition would grow less & less by the month. But it ain't going to happen...

How do you handle the Competition, First Time Homeowners, Lower Service Fees, the Rising Cost of doing business & all the other crap you are having to deal with...

Just Keep On doing what you are doing now, you will either sink or swim, It's no Big Deal just remember You had the Chance & that's all that counts.

Everyday you make it another day just gives you more respect points & another day that the Department Manager can't tell you when to Crap, Eat or Sleep!

Just remember you are the Boss Today & that's what Counts, when the Crap comes & gets bad you will deal with it... One Way or Another!

                              Semper Fi
                              Merry Christmas Everybody!

It's great to work for yourself, I tell myself even though right now it has slowed down and I am getting both plow ready for snow. A combination of good planning and looking ahead can make it happen for you. It's all up to you.
