As far as resources go.. I think we would do a lot better if we didn't have people using gas guzzling vehicles just for the craps and giggles of it. I mean - who really needs to go driving around in a Hummer? They should just take all those damn things and ship them over to Iraq or something.

And regardless of whether or not there could be a lot more oil than we think (though I don't think we should count our chickens before they hatch) gas prices are definitely going up a lot faster than most people's paychecks are. It's a sad thing too.
Somebody who fills up their 4 cylinder beater for $15 a week last year or so could spend $30 or more this year around. If that person only brings in a $250 paycheck working at Wal-Mart or wherever they will basically see a 6% cut in spending money. This isn't including the rising costs of other stuff - like Work It said. The factories I've worked at only gives like a 3% cost of living raise each year or two.

If NASA can find a way to remote control a high-tech buggy on mars for months at a time without any gas stations within several millions of miles - surely we can develop an effecient means of rolling a car down the road without the use of gasoline.

todays fuel experience

Well I drove from central MO to the rockies today 3/11/05 bought fuel 3-4 times, fuel ranged from $2.01 to 2.15 for 87oct. MO, Kan, and Colorado. Also if anybody is around breckenridge this weekend I'll be out there. Have a great weekend.
